Talk:Speech
|
Honest question from a non-expert. Is the use of sign language really considered speech? I fully realize that sign is a real language (or, actually, many real languages). Sign is certainly communication. But not all communication is speech, and not all languages are spoken (e.g. sign). Isn't the word speech related etymologically to speak, spoken, etc?
Just wondering... -Rholton 01:56, 5 Mar 2004 (UTC)
Given the way technology is being more a part of daily life, should this be added to the "colloquial terms" list: 'Way of communication between two people without a keyboard.'
