I think this has gone far enough. Pearl Took gets exactly one line of mention in LOTR. How much mention do you think a character needs in order to be require their own article? DJ Clayworth 22:25, 5 Feb 2004 (UTC)
- In general I agree. THere is an interesting anecdote about her in Letters of JRR Tolkien, wherein it is implied she killed her grandmother. But perhaps still not an articles worth Morwen 22:26, Feb 5, 2004 (UTC)
- Personally, I see little harm in letting Mrs. Took have an article of her own, but I wouldn't express myself too vehemently if she was, instead, granted her own section in an article possibly dubbed List of Tooks, having this article replaced with a redirect. -Itai 00:44, 6 Feb 2004 (UTC)
- I'd love to do this, but I'm trying to document the Allied conquest of Italy WW2 and make contributions to Christianity and anti-semitism. This would be a nice little task for someone looking for something to do. DJ Clayworth 15:06, 6 Feb 2004 (UTC)
I agree; But I think something like a "List of female Hobbits" would be more useful than a list of Tooks because it would contain also some other small Articles about female hobbits. May be a list of male Tooks/Took geneaology would be useful too, but that should be a separate thing. I've played around a bit on my talk page User talk:Lady Tenar, but of course this needs some refinig. My Problem with it: How do i merge the small Articles without loosing their Page history? I understand that i should not simply copy and paste, but i don't know what else to do. Sorry i'm still a newbeie. Also i'm not sure what would be a good name for the thing. Tenar
- Unfortunately, you can't merge the articles into one and keep their page history. You could use the "Move this Page" function found in the toolbar on the left to preserve the history of one article, but I would judge this pointless and highly inappropriate. I propose that you simply create a new article, and change the old pages into redirects (replace their contents with #REDIRECT [[new article name]]). When creating the article, however, you might want to mention in the description line that it is a merger. Your list, incidentally, is really quite interesting, and definitely a worthy contribution. If you need any help, be sure to drop me a note on my discussion page.

Pearl Took
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
In the fictional universe of J.R.R. Tolkien's, The Lord of the Rings, Pearl Took (2975-?) was the eldest sister of Peregrin Took, a character in the novel trilogy The Lord of the Rings. She also had two sisters named Pimpernel Took and Pervinca Took. Pearl probably died sometime before the year 63 of the Fourth Age when Pippin left the Shire to live in Gondor.
