Talk:Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao

Besides being ragingly POV, I have very little comprehension as to what the first paragraph means. Can someone explain what the Telugu Film industry and a kamma are? -- Zoe

Telugu is spoken in Andhra Pradesh. I guess here it means the people? So it should be "film" uncapitalized. But raging it is. --Menchi 04:08 May 9, 2003 (UTC)
I fail to see how the first paragraph is any more ragingly POV than the second. This is such a beautifully illustrative specimen of POV writing; I think we should hang it up on the fridge. Mkweise 04:23 May 9, 2003 (UTC)
And a kamma is what you use when you want punctuation that isn't quite as strong as a period or a semicolon... oh, wait. Nevermind. ;) -- John Owens
Oh wow.  :-X Koyaanis Qatsi
He has a name! A real one! Wow. And you know what happens now, of course.... -- John Owens 04:35 May 9, 2003 (UTC)
What? Who? What's going on? -- Oliver P. 04:38 May 9, 2003 (UTC)
It gets moved to that full name, that's all. Move along, folks, nothing to see here.... -- John Owens
Oh, okay. But if he's more commonly known by his initials, shouldn't he be at N. T. Rama Rao or something? (Compare C. S. Lewis.) -- Oliver P. 05:08 May 9, 2003 (UTC)
Ouch, touché. You've got a point there. -- John Owens

I've messsed about with the article a bit. I weaseled my way out of making any judgements about some of the blatant NPOVisms, by just adding "some consider" and "has been blamed on", and stuff like that. Clearly needs a lot more work... -- Oliver P. 04:38 May 9, 2003 (UTC)

I think i've cleaned up most of the POV written by me. However i do face a problem to present a popular opinion in wikipedia. This is because, film industry in Andhra is not very organized. Andhra didn't institutionalise atleast anything close to critics or crtiticism(this becuase of hypocritical nature of indians). So any popular opinions against somebody cannot be presented in wikipedia, since they'll be categorized as raging POVs. How do i go about ? Is it that Encyclopedias do not reflect popular opinions ?

Some suggestions/observations: The first 4 paragraphs seem fine (although it would be nice if the red-link articles could at least be stubbed).

"This is clearly illustrayted by movies such as Driver Ramudu and Samrat Ashoka." could use some explanation--how do these performances support the claim "...he was more interested in media attention than in artistic creations."?

"However, he amassed a lot of wealth (about INR 10 billion) at the end of his first tenure as chief minister." How? And I assume "by the end" would be more accurate.

"subsidy on rice"--distributed to who/how/why? what were the effects (other than to the "state treasury")? Replace " !!" with "."

"text books"? high school, college, both or ??? "colloquial"? Specify a language. Or, if still the Telugu language, clarify what you mean by "traditional" and "colloquial"--maybe link to an external article about what happened.

Since 1996 has come and gone, "could" is inappropriate--the party either won or lost the election. Or, "It could have won a significant number of seats in the 1996 Lok Sabha elections but it formed a coalation government with the congress party.", if that is actually what happened. Or, "It won a significant number of seats in the 1996 Lok Sabha elections, but it formed a coalation government with the congress party." if that is more accurate.
