- In mathematics, an invariant is most generally defined to be a functor between two categories. The morphisms in the first category which are transforned to identities in the second category, are the operations you consider trivial.
Not sharp enough as a piece of category theory; and better omitted, I think. Invariantology is the discipline to recognize the invarints in the universe. Charles Matthews 16:12, 4 Feb 2004 (UTC)
