Takeshi Kaneshiro (Born October 11, 1973) is a male actor and model. Of half-Japanese, half-Taiwanese ancestry, he was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan but now resides in Japan. Takeshi was discovered by his classmate's mother at Taipei American School, who suggested he try modeling. Wanting to buy a motorcycle at the time, but lacking the money, he entered show business.
Considered an A-List star, Takeshi exhibits a low-key lifestyle unlike many other popular stars in Asia. Fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese, he now stars in movies from Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
