Takanori Nishikawa - Vertical Infinity

Takanori Nishikawa (西川 貴教 Nishikawa Takanori) more popular as T.M.R (Takanori Makes Revolution) is a Japanese J-Pop singer. He was born on September 19th, 1970 in Shiga Prefecture, Japan. T.M.Revolution is a team that consists of song writer and producer, Daisuke Asakura, lyric writer, Akio Inoue, and singer, Takanori Nishikawa.) In 1996, he released his debut single, "Dokusai" (american translation: "Monopolize") which had started his huge fan base. Later in 1996, he entered the J-Pop scene in a huge way, his song "Heart of Sword - Yoake Mae" ("Heart of Sword - Before Dawn") was used in the anime Rurouni Kenshin as the series third closing theme. He has produced 20 singles and 9 albums. He has also contributed two songs to Gundam Seed, "Invoke" which is Gundam Seed's opening theme, and "Meteor" which is Gundam Seed's 26th episode insert song, both of those songs can be found on his recently released album "Coordinate". Following Gundam SEED, he made "Ignited" as the first opening for Gundam SEED destiny.

Nishikawa also became a seiyuu for Miguel Aiman in Gundam SEED, and for Heine Westenfluss in Gundam SEED Destiny. Both characters are based on his ideal appearance (blonde hair with bang), and their character's mobile suit sported orange, his favorite color. In fact, Westenfluss is a word play on his name Nishikawa: both means "West River"

Takanori was married to Yumi Yoshimura of the Japanese duo Puffy in 1999, and in 2003, when the Japanese media accused Yoshimura of an affair, Nishikawa filed for divorce and their divorce was finalized in that year.

In America his music has been recently distributed by Tofu Records, a company specializing in the marketing of targeting Japanese artists and promoting them in the United States. CDs that have been released in the U.S. are Coordinate and Seventh Heaven.

In 2003, Takanori Nishikawa made his live concert debut in the United States at the anime convention, Otakon. His concert was extremely popular and many attendees of Otakon 2003 filled the ballroom of the Baltimore Convention Center and a overflow room located in a exhibition hall of the Baltimore Convention Center to see him perform.

In 2004, Takanori Nishikawa attended PMX on his second U.S. Tour. Due to the huge success of this concert in America, and because of his relations to Sony Music Japan, T.M.Revolution was asked to sing the ending song to SPIDER-MAN 2 in Japan, and produced the single "Web of Night" that includes and English version of the song.

Takanori Nishikawa designs clothes for his clothing line called "Defrock". (http://www.defrock.jp/) The name comes from a play on words of the Japanese language. Cars use this device called a "Differntial Lock" The Japanese sound for "l" and "r" are almost interchangeable, so he changed it to his favorite type of music, "Rock".

Takanori Nishikawa is also a radio DJ host on his show called "All Night Nippon" where listeners who can not meet him at his concerts have a chance to talk to him.

On that last note, many of his songs are titled in a way so that if abbreviated, they would be "T.M.R" Examples of these are "Timeless Mobius Rover", "Tide Moon River", "Trace Millennium Road", "True Merry Rings", "Tomorrow Meets Resistance", and "Twinkle Million Rendevouz".

Takanori Nishikawa is represented by Sony Music Japan in Japan and Tofu Records in the United States.
