The Plunkett-class heavy artillery cruiser is a fictional starship in the Wing Commander universe. The Plunkett class is in service around the time of Wing Commander Prophecy, replacing the aging Tallahassee class
The Plunkett is the most powerful heavy cruiser the Terran Confederation has ever fielded. She carries one triple heavy plasma cannon, three triple heavy particle cannon and 22 dual laser turrets. In addition, she could field a squadron of fighters (usually Tigersharks) for close-range support.

There is no apparent set naming convention for the Plunkett class, as the names run the gamut from cities to notable battles to notable Confederation captains. The class was apparently named for artist David Plunkett, who was an artist on Wing Commander Prophecy.
