Sylvain Salnave (b. 7 February 1826, Haut du Cap) was the President of Haiti from 1865 to 1870. Some sources say that he proclaimed himself an emperor, though this is disputed. Salnave was the son of Jean-Baptiste Salnave.
He led a rebellion against President Fabre Geffrard and assumed control of the country on 9 May 1865. He was defeated and killed by radical republicans in Port-au-Prince on 15 January 1870. He had two sons, Victor and Félix.
