Sydney Buxton, 1st Earl Buxton

Sydney Charles Buxton, 1st Earl Buxton was the Governor-General of the Union of South Africa from 1914 to 1920. He was created Viscount Buxton, of Newtimber in the County of Sussex, in 1914, and advanced as Earl Buxton in 1920.
Many South African schools have a Buxton House named after him.
