Swarfega
|
Swarfega is the brand name of a dark green glutinous material used to clean grease, waste oil, printers ink or general persistent dirt from the human body. It can either be used by rubbing in and wiping off, or rubbing in and rinsing off.
It is the most widely known such material in the UK, which is why the word is a generic term used to refer to any similar substance. Its name comes from Swarf, being the old engineering term for oil and grease and 'ega' as in eager to remove. It is manufactured by Deb ltd.
