Su-37 "Terminator"

The Sukhoi Su-37 Flanker (NATO designation: Super Flanker) is a Russian multi-role jet fighter aircraft.

The Su-37 first flew in 1996 and is a further improvement of the Su-35 with the main enhancement being a three-dimensional thrust vectoring nozzles operated through the fly-by-wire flight control system. Other Su-37 features include a Zhuk-PH phased array radar and an improved cockpit with sidestick controller and four Thales LCD multifunction displays. The Su-37 prototype was recently reconverted to an Su-35. The aircraft's 3-D thrust vectoring engine nozzles allow for increased maneuverability in combat. The only other aircraft capable of doing this is the U.S F/A 22 Raptor, which has 2-D thrust vectoring nozzles. An advanced variant of the Su-37, the Su-47 (formerly the S-37A), has replaced the Su-37. This newer variant features swept forward wings and partial stealth ability. The Su-47 has been kept under secrecy by the Russian government.

In the videogame Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies, two of the aircraft you can pilot are the Su-37 and the S-37A; the Su-37 is also featured in the sequel, Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War.
