Stivan John Bators, known as Stiv Bators (October 22 1949 - June 3 1990) was an American rock and roll and punk rock singer and sometime guitarist, from Youngstown, Ohio, in the bands Rocket From The Tombs, The Dead Boys, The Wanderers and The Lords of the New Church. He also recorded as a solo artist.
In 1981, he co-starred in the John Waters film, Polyester. Stiv also made a guest appearance as "Dick Slammer," the lead singer of "The Blender Children" in the 1988 film, Tapeheads.
Bators died after being struck by a car while standing on a sidewalk in Paris; not realizing the seriousness of his injuries, he went back to his room, where he died in his sleep.
