Steve Guttenberg
|
Steve Guttenberg (born August 24, 1958 in New York, New York), sometimes credited as Steven Guttenberg, is an American actor. Guttenberg was a popular movie star throughout much of the 1980s, and is best known for starring roles in the first four Police Academy films, Three Men and a Baby, Cocoon, and Short Circuit. In the 1990s, he worked on a number of children's films and low budget movies. Despite his lack of high profile roles since 1990's Three Men and a Little Lady, his name remains well known in American popular culture. In an episode of The Simpsons, the Sacred Order of Stonecutters, a satire of the Freemasons, mention his name in a rousing drinking song cataloging how they secretly manipulate society: "Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Guttenberg a star? We do!".
