According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 142.0 km² (54.8 mi²). 137.6 km² (53.1 mi²) of it is land and 4.4 km² (1.7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.12% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 69,078 people, 28,274 households, and 21,035 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 502.0/km² (1,300.1/mi²). There are 30,658 housing units at an average density of 222.8/km² (577.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 93.50% White, 3.00% African American, 0.24% Native American, 0.77% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.22% from other races, and 1.24% from two or more races. 6.83% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 28,274 households out of which 23.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.2% are married couples living together, 9.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.6% are non-families. 21.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.39 and the average family size is 2.74.
