Spheal (Tamazarashi in Japanese) is a cute Pokémon similar to a seal in name and appearance. It is only available in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. It can be caught in the Shoal Cave by walking or surfing. It is a Water/Ice type that can learn water, ice, normal, and ground moves. It evolves into Sealeo at level 32, which evolves into Walrein at level 44. Spheal travels by rolling on its ball-like body, which is also mentioned in its Pokédex definition.
A Spheal can clap and squirt water. It rolls on a Sealeo's nose sometimes. That is the cutest part of a Spheal's life. It is a ball with a face.
Its name is probably due more to its spherical shape, than to its likenes with seals.
Spheal appears in the Pokémon Anime in Episode 312, in which Ash visits the Oceanic Museum in Slateport City.
Spheals also make a movie-appearance in Destiny Deoxys, where one of the new characters run into one.
