The South River is a tributary of the Black River, approximately 75 mi (121 km) long, in southeastern North Carolina in the United States.
It rises in northeastern Harnett County, near Angier and approximately 25 mi (40 km) south of Raleigh. It flows SSE past Benson, then SSW passing south of Dunn. East of Fayetteville, it turns SSE and joins the Black approximately 30 mi (48 km) northwest of Wilmington.
