South Lancaster is a census-designated place and village located in the town of Lancaster in Worcester County, Massachusetts. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 1,742.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.4 km² (1.3 mi²). 3.4 km² (1.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.76% is water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,742 people, 676 households, and 469 families residing in the village. The population density is 517.4/km² (1,334.9/mi²). There are 695 housing units at an average density of 206.4/km² (532.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 90.30% White, 6.43% African American, 0.06% Native American, 1.26% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.49% from other races, and 0.46% from two or more races. 5.45% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 676 households out of which 32.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.0% are married couples living together, 8.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.6% are non-families. 25.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.58 and the average family size is 3.11.
In the village the population is spread out with 24.9% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 30.4% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.0% who are 65 years of age or older.
