Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,385 people, 342 households, and 286 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 356.5/km² (922.0/mi²). There are 365 housing units at an average density of 94.0/km² (243.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 45.78% White, 16.03% African American, 1.95% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 31.62% from other races, and 4.62% from two or more races. 74.15% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 342 households out of which 55.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.0% are married couples living together, 24.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 16.1% are non-families. 13.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 4.05 and the average family size is 4.41.
