So-ran Bushi
|
So-ran Bushi is one of the most famous traditional dances in Japan. It was originated by the fishermen of Hokkaido, the north part of Japan.
So-ran Bushi has more dynamic choreography and more modernized rhythm than other traditional Japanese dances. Many other Japanese traditional dances have only slow tempo, and very relaxed music with them (like Bon Odori). However, the So-ran is different. The So-ran dance was recently reimagined by a high school teacher leading his students; under this direction, it gained an electric guitar beat and was reinterpreted for more modern times.
