Siesta Shores is a census-designated place located in Zapata County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 890.
Geography
Siesta Shores is located at 26°51'25" North, 99°15'8" West (26.856887, -99.252222)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.6 km² (0.6 mi²). 1.6 km² (0.6 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 890 people, 292 households, and 244 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 545.4/km² (1,418.1/mi²). There are 457 housing units at an average density of 280.1/km² (728.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 83.48% White, 0.34% African American, 0.34% Native American, 0.11% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 14.61% from other races, and 1.12% from two or more races. 79.89% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 292 households out of which 42.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.5% are married couples living together, 11.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 16.4% are non-families. 14.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.05 and the average family size is 3.36.
