The term Shag may refer to one of the following.
- Shag is a form of swing dance. The two most common variations are the Carolina Shag and the Collegiate Shag.
- Shag is a film starring Bridget Fonda, Phoebe Cates, Annabeth Gish, Jeff Yagher and Scott Coffey. It features Carolina Shag dancing and was produced by the North Carolina tourist board.
- Shag is the name for some birds of the cormorant family. Originally used for the European or Common Shag Phalacrocorax aristotelis, it is now used for most cormorants in New Zealand, and is likely to be used for any bird in the family that has a crest.
- Shag is a type of fabric; typically used to make a deep-pile carpet. Shag carpet is sometimes evoked as an example of the aesthetic from the culture of the US 1970s.
- Shag is fine-cut tobacco for hand-rolling cigarettes that is cut into strips with a width of up to 1.2 millimeters.
- Shag is crude terminology used to identify the longest serving student at a college of Cambridge University. This terminology is used infrequently in contemporary society.
- Shag is the pseudonym of the artist Josh Agle.
