Severn Beach

Severn Beach is a small town on the mouth of the river Severn in South Gloucestershire in England. It has a riverfront footpath that leads beneath the Second Severn Bridge. The town is also at the end of a railway line, with a small unstaffed station. It used to have a popular swimming pool which has been demolished in favour of a housing estate. Despite being right next to the motorway, residents have to travel for miles before they can access the bridge as there is no motorway junction at the town.
Severn Beach was created in 1922 as a seaside resort. It had a swimming pool and a boating lake. It also had a night club called the Blue Lagoon. Many people came from Bristol to Severn Beach because it had less strict licensing laws.
Adge Cutler of The Wurzels wrote a song called "Aloha Severn Beach".
