Sempronius is a town located in Cayuga County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 893. The town is named after a Roman military and political leader.

Geography
The east town line borders Skaneateles Lake and Onondaga County, New York.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 76.9 km² (29.7 mi²). 76.1 km² (29.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.9 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.14% water.

Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 893 people, 311 households, and 238 families residing in the town. The population density is 11.7/km² (30.4/mi²). There are 405 housing units at an average density of 5.3/km² (13.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.42% White, 0.56% African American, 0.34% Native American, 0.90% Asian, 0.22% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.56% from two or more races. 0.78% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 311 households out of which 41.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.4% are married couples living together, 7.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.2% are non-families. 18.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.87 and the average family size is 3.21.
In the town the population is spread out with 30.9% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 30.3% from 25 to 44, 25.0% from 45 to 64, and 6.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 33 years. For every 100 females there are 111.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 116.5 males.
