Seagoville is a city located in Dallas County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 10,823.

Seagoville is located at 32°39'7" North, 96°33'0" West (32.651920, -96.550033)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 42.2 km² (16.3 mi²). 42.1 km² (16.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.31% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 10,823 people, 3,308 households, and 2,464 families residing in the city. The population density is 257.3/km² (666.3/mi²). There are 3,608 housing units at an average density of 85.8/km² (222.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 78.76% White, 9.62% African American, 0.75% Native American, 0.56% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 7.78% from other races, and 2.46% from two or more races. 17.60% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 3,308 households out of which 38.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.2% are married couples living together, 15.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.5% are non-families. 21.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.84 and the average family size is 3.29.
In the city the population is spread out with 25.8% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 36.2% from 25 to 44, 19.4% from 45 to 64, and 9.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 33 years. For every 100 females there are 117.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 126.0 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $40,168, and the median income for a family is $45,590. Males have a median income of $33,061 versus $25,753 for females. The per capita income for the city is $17,398. 11.8% of the population and 9.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 13.1% of those under the age of 18 and 17.4% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
History
The town was founded in 1876 as Seago by T.K. Seago (1836 - 1904). The United States Post Office changed the town's name to "Seagoville" in 1910 to prevent confusion with another city in Texas called Sego.
