Scott Simms

Scott Simms (born August 12, 1970 in Bishop's Falls, Newfoundland) is a Canadian politician. He is the Liberal Member of Parliament for the Newfoundland and Labrador riding of Bonavista-Exploits. He was elected in the 2004 election and beat out four other candidates, including Conservative incumbent Rex Barnes. He is a member of the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage and Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans.
Simms was born in Bishop's Falls, Newfoundland and graduated from Mount Allison University with a Bachelor in Commerce and Loyalist College in Journalism.
Before entering elected politics, Simms was an on-air host and public relations manager for The Weather Network, and also worked in radio.
Simms is married with one child.
