Sandie Shaw (real name Sandra Goodrich) (born February 26, 1947) is a British singer, best remembered for winning the 1967 Eurovision Song Contest with "Puppet on a String". She led a highly successful career as one of Britain's "girl singers", scoring three number ones with the Burt Bacharach-penned "(There's) Always Something There To Remind Me", "Long Live Love" and the aforementioned "Puppet on a String".
She has a daughter, Grace, born in 1971. She later married Nik Powell, in 1981, with whom she has two children, Amie and Jack.
Her trademark was to perform without shoes -- the reason usually given being that she was self-conscious about her height. Her first husband was fashion designer Jeff Banks.
After studies at both Oxford and London Universities she graduated as a psychotherapist.
