Sanatoga is a census-designated place located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 7,734.
Geography
Sanatoga is located at 40°15'1" North, 75°35'20" West (40.250252, -75.588933)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 8.9 km² (3.4 mi²). 8.8 km² (3.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.29% is water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 7,734 people, 2,734 households, and 2,058 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 875.7/km² (2,265.7/mi²). There are 2,811 housing units at an average density of 318.3/km² (823.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 85.60% White, 11.46% African American, 0.14% Native American, 0.92% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.32% from other races, and 1.53% from two or more races. 1.51% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,734 households out of which 42.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.9% are married couples living together, 13.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.7% are non-families. 20.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.76 and the average family size is 3.20.
