SanDisk Corporation Template:Nasdaq, formerly SunDisk, is a US-based multinational corporation which designs and markets flash memory card products. SanDisk was founded in 1988 by Eli Harari, a well-known non-volatile memory technology expert. SanDisk became a publicly traded company on NASDAQ in November 1995. SanDisk produces many different types of Flash Memory, including various memory cards and a series of high-quality USB removable drives. SanDisk is known for producing two types of products: High-end units that cost more than the typical unit but are of much higher quality. The other type they are known for producing are the economy versions. Sandisk produces some of the cheapest memory cards on the market, but this is not without a downside. The low-cost cards by SanDisk are physically flimsy, enough that they are notorious in the PDA community for breaking without reason.
The company is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, with offices and manufacturing facilities worldwide.
