Safranbolu is a town in Turkey.
The old town of Safranbolu preserves many old buildings. It is a World Heritage site.
Safronbolu is located in Karabuk province. It is about 200 kilometers north of Ankara and about 100 kilometers south of the Black Sea coast. Safranbolu is located about 9 kilometers north of the city of Karabuk.
The old town is located in a deep ravine in a fairly dry area in the rain shadow of the mountains. The new town is located on the plateau about 2 kilometers west of the old town.
Safranbolu was a center for growing saffron and a trading place. There are many old buildings in the town. There are old markets and mosque.
