Sade is a jazz-pop group that was enormously popular both in its native UK and in the U.S. during the 1980s and continues to win popular and critical acclaim. The group is composed of vocalist Sade Adu, Stuart Mathewman (guitar and saxophone), Paul Denham (bass), Andrew Hale (keyboards), and Paul Cook (drums).
Sade, pronounced roughly as "shah-day" (IPA //), was awarded a Grammy for the album Lovers Rock in the "Best Pop Vocal Album; for solo artists, duos or groups" category on 27 February 2002.
