Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, also know as SVCE, is an upcoming premier institute of Engineering in India. The college is located in Pennalur, near Chennai. Established in 1985, the college has undergone rapid progress since then.
The college, run by the SPIC, a prominent petro-chemical conglomerate in India, has been rated the best college in the city of Chennai on more than one occasion. The Alumni of the institution are successfully placed in several leading companies. Some of them have completed Ph.D.s from prestigious universities like UIUC, the University of Texas at Austin and The University of Arizona. A few have started up their own companies. The college, which is affiliated to Anna University of Technology, Chennai, is the most preferred destination for several aspiring engineers in Tamilnadu. A BS Degree program in Information Technology was first introduced in India by the college.
