The White House of Russia, also known as the Russian White House, is a government building in Moscow that housed the Russian parliament until the crisis of 3 October 1993 when an uprising lead to siege and artillery attacks on White House that caused a major fire. (See also: Russian constitutional crisis of 1993).
The reformed parliament, known as the Duma, was elected in 1994 and moved to another building on Moscow's Ohotnyi Ryad.
The renovated White House now houses the Russian cabinet known as Pravitel'stvo (translated in English as Government).
