Rowan University is a public university located in Glassboro, New Jersey comprised of 42 buildings. There is also a satellite campus in Camden, New Jersey.

History
It was founded in 1923 as Glassboro Normal School. It became Glassboro State Teachers College in the 1930s, and later became Glassboro State College in 1958. The school was renamed Rowan College of New Jersey in 1992 after Henry and Betty Rowan gave $100 million to the school. It became Rowan University in 1997 when it achieved university status.

There are about 6,000 full-time and 2,100 part-time undergraduate and 1,100 graduate students at Rowan University. 97% In-state students.

Admissions
According to Rowan: Students entering the University in 2003 had a mean SAT I range between 1,080 and 1,280 and were ranked in the top quarter of their high school classes. 82% had h.s. GPA of 3.0 and higher.
Famous Events
A summit in Hollybush Mansion took place on June 23 and 25, 1967 between President Lyndon Johnson and Soviet Premier Aleksei Kosygin.

10 Year Plan
Rowan University is currently engaged in an aggressive 10 year plan. Already complete are some renovations, and a new Science Building. In the works is an Education Building. New Student Residences are also being constructed. Parking, a 'technology park', and other academic buildings are also in the plans.
