History
In the 1970s the university was known for its very free education as opposed to the usual lectures provided by the more old-fashioned universities of Copenhagen and Århus.
Today the university is not as free as in the 1970s; however, it is still one of the most modern universities giving the students more influence on the planning of the teaching than most other Danish universities. Graduates from Roskilde University are generally among the most wanted in the business community due to their skills in planning and teamwork alongside their major.
Some notable alumni and professors from RUC include:
Torben Dyrberg
Rasmus Jønson
Claus Bryld
Jesper Jespersen
Jacob Torfing
Kirsten Weber
