Ropczyce

Ropczyce is a town in south-eastern Poland, with 14,900 inhabitants (1998).
Situated in the Subcarpathian Voivodship (since 1999). It is the capital of Ropczyce-Sedziszow County.
History
First mentioned in historical records in 1254, it received its city charter in 1362. In 1772 it became part of the Austrian Empire where it remained until 1918 when it became part of independent Poland.
