The Roland CR-78 is an analog drum machine that was released in 1979. Although the CR-78 still featured preset rhythms like its predecessors, but the CR-78 allowed users to program their own rhythms, using the WS-1 programmer. The CR-78, like its successor, the Roland TR-808, has made a name for itself in the electronic music and hip-hop scenes. Some famous users of the CR-78 are Warren Cann of Ultravox, Fatboy Slim, Gary Numan, and Phil Collins. Template:Musical-instrument-stub
