Robert Barton Englund, born June 6, 1949 in Glendale, California, is an American actor.
He is probably best known for playing Freddy Krueger in the horror film A Nightmare On Elm Street and its five sequels. Englund also played Freddy in Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1994) and Freddy Vs. Jason (2003). He received the Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) and A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988). In 2001, he received the Life Career Award.
Since his first movie, Buster and Billie (1974), he has acted in nearly 70 movies and TV-series to date. This includes the V television franchise where he gained his first major role as the lovably innocent Visitor, Willie.
