Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,583 people, 560 households, and 455 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 169.8/km² (440.1/mi²). There are 574 housing units at an average density of 61.6/km² (159.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 88.44% White, 7.26% African American, 0.25% Native American, 1.52% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 1.07% from other races, and 1.39% from two or more races. 2.27% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 560 households out of which 41.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.3% are married couples living together, 8.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 18.6% are non-families. 13.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.83 and the average family size is 3.09.
