Riverton Township is a township located in Mason County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 1,335.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 92.3 km² (35.6 mi²). 91.2 km² (35.2 mi²) of it is land and 1.1 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.18% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 1,335 people, 442 households, and 353 families residing in the township. The population density is 14.6/km² (37.9/mi²). There are 550 housing units at an average density of 6.0/km² (15.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 96.55% White, 0.07% African American, 0.60% Native American, 0.07% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.25% from other races, and 0.45% from two or more races. 6.22% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
