Richmond CDP is a census-designated place (CDP) within the town of Richmond in Sagadahoc County, Maine. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,864. The United States Census Bureau uses the CDP to report separate demographic detail for the relatively more densely populated central settlement within the town.

Geography
According to the U.S.census, the CDP has a total area of 18.4 km² (7.1 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 1,864 people, 759 households, and 494 families residing in the settlement. The population density is 101.4/km² (262.7/mi²). There are 840 housing units at an average density of 45.7 persons/km² (118.4 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.80% White, 0.59% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 0.11% Pacific Islander, 0.32% from other races, and 0.80% from two or more races. 0.86% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 759 households out of which 35.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.3% are married couples living together, 13.3% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 34.9% are non-families. 28.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.43 and the average family size is 3.00.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 26.7% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 29.6% from 25 to 44, 25.8% from 45 to 64, and 11.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 93.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 87.9 males.
