Richard M. Bishop

Richard Moore Bishop (also known as Richard M. Bishop and Papa Richard) (November 4, 1812–March 2, 1893) was a Democratic politician from the U.S. state of Ohio. Bishop served as the 34th Governor of Ohio.
Born in Fleming County, Kentucky, Bishop served as mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio from 1859 to 1861 before being elected to the governorship in 1877. Bishop served a single two-year term.
