Location
The rhomboid minor takes its origin from the nuchal ligaments and spinous processes of C7 to T1 vertebrae. It is inserted into the medial border of the scapula, superior to the insertion of rhomboid major muscle.
Action
Acting with the rhomboid major, both muscles retracts the scapula and rotates it to depress the glenoid cavity. It also fixes the scapula to the thoracic wall.
Innervation
Both rhomboid major and minor are innervated by the dorsal scapular nerve (C4 and C5)
Blood supply
Both rhomboid major and minor receives its arterial blood supply from the dorsal scapular artery
