Revere is a city located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 47,283.

History
The area that is now Revere was first settled in 1739 as part of Chelsea, Massachusetts. It was incorporated as a town in 1871 and converted to a city in 1914. It was named for Paul Revere.
Geography
Revere is located at 42°24'58" North, 71°0'19" West (42.416247, -71.005250)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 26.0 km² (10.0 mi²). 15.3 km² (5.9 mi²) of it is land and 10.6 km² (4.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 40.98% water.

Revere Beach is the oldest public beach in the United States. It has a fairly active beachfront district.

Wonderland Park is one of the state's few remaining greyhound racing tracks.
Transit
The MBTA Blue Line terminates in Revere, with stops at Wonderland, Revere Beach, and Beachmont.
U.S. Highway 1 and state routes 1A, 16, 60, 107, and 129 run through Revere.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 47,283 people, 19,463 households, and 11,872 families residing in the city. The population density is 3,089.0/km² (7,994.2/mi²). There are 20,181 housing units at an average density of 1,318.4/km² (3,412.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 84.35% White, 2.88% African American, 0.26% Native American, 4.54% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 4.11% from other races, and 3.78% from two or more races. 9.44% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 19,463 households out of which 25.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.8% are married couples living together, 13.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 39.0% are non-families. 32.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.41 and the average family size is 3.09.
In the city the population is spread out with 21.0% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 32.6% from 25 to 44, 21.8% from 45 to 64, and 16.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 93.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.9 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $37,067, and the median income for a family is $45,865. Males have a median income of $36,881 versus $31,300 for females. The per capita income for the city is $19,698. 14.6% of the population and 11.9% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 20.4% of those under the age of 18 and 10.4% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
