Raszyn is a village in Poland.
Battles
During the Polish-Soviet War, it was the site of Battle of Raszyn (1920). During the Napoleonic Wars, it was the site of Battle of Raszyn (1809).
Broadcasting
In the neighbourhood of Raszyn there is a longwave broadcasting transmitter of Radio Polonia. It was until the inaugaration of the transmitter Konstantynow in 1974 the central longwave radio facility of Polonia. From 1974 to 1978 it served as spare transmitter for Konstantynow. Since 1978 the facility in Raszyn, which aerial mast built in 1949 was with a height of 335 metres the tallest construction in Europe in those days, is used at daytime for transmissions of a second program in the longwave range. After the collapse of the radio mast in Konstantynow the transmitter in Konstantynow was used until the completation of the new longwave transmitter at Solec Kujawski in 1999 at daytime for transmissions on 198 kHz and at nighttime for such on 225 kHz.
