Raceland is a census-designated place and town located on Bayou Lafourche in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 10,224.

Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 10,224 people, 3,656 households, and 2,837 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 182.3/km² (472.3/mi²). There are 3,908 housing units at an average density of 69.7/km² (180.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 71.19% White, 26.23% African American, 0.96% Native American, 0.25% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.65% from other races, and 0.68% from two or more races. 1.54% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 3,656 households out of which 37.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.2% are married couples living together, 15.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 22.4% are non-families. 18.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.77 and the average family size is 3.14.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 27.7% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 27.5% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 12.9% who are 65 years of age or older.
