RMS Queen Victoria
|
The Queen Victoria is a new cruise liner being built for the Cunard Steamship Lines at the Fincantieri shipyard, near Venice, Italy. Initially, the ship was intended to be a unit that would be ready in 2005. However, a restructuring by Cunard's parent company, Carnival Corporation saw this unit being transferred to P&O as the Arcadia. Another unit, of the same basic design, but more in keeping with Cunard's interior style, has been ordered from Fincantieri to be commissioned as the Queen Victoria in 2007. At 85,000 tons the Queen Victoria will be the second largest Cunard ship ever built (after Queen Mary 2).
