Quassia is a genus of about 40 species of tropical evergreen trees and shrubs native to Asia. Best known is Bitterwood (Quassia amara), a tree thet grows up to 6 meters (20 feet) tall. Its heartwood contains quassin, a bitter-tasting substance that was once used in medicine.
