Prospero (pros'-pur-oe) is a relatively small natural satellite of the planet Uranus named after the sorcerer in William Shakespeare's play The Tempest. It was discovered on 1999-07-18 by the astrophysicist Matthew Holman, and given the temporary designation S/1999 U 3. It is also designated Uranus XVIII.
As of 2005, little is known about this irregular satellite.
Because of its small size, recent discovery, and the nature of orbit, there is a lot of conflicting information on Prospero.
