A professional wrestling promotion is a company or business that performs regular shows involving professional wrestling for monetary gain.
Currently, the only major wrestling organisations left in North America are World Wrestling Entertainment, the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), Total Nonstop Action, a former NWA member that is still loosely linked to that organization, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre and Asistencia Asesoría y Administración. Of these, WWE is by far the largest and most influential. However, outside North America, there are other federations throughout Europe and also in Japan, South America, Puerto Rico and the rest of the Caribbean.
