Princes of Abkhazia
|
The Princes of Abkhazia governed the Abkhazian principality during the Middle Ages until mid-19th century. During this period, Abkhazia was included in various larger states like Georgia, Samegrelo and the Ottoman Empire.
In the 15th century, feudal Georgia was split into four smaller regions. Abkhazia was then a principality, led by Princes of the Shirvashidze dynasty.
